-Physical Preparation: The tour involves high-altitude trekking, especially around Mount Kailash and Manasarovar Lake. Prepare by hiking at high altitudes and practicing breathing exercises to adjust to thinner air.
-Acclimatization: Proper acclimatization is crucial in the Tibetan Plateau, where the altitude can lead to altitude sickness. Spend time adjusting in areas like Saga and Darchen before continuing on the trek.
-Pack Appropriately: Given the extreme weather conditions, pack for cold temperatures, especially at night. Include warm clothing, sturdy trekking shoes, sunscreen, and a good camera to capture the stunning landscape.
-Stay Hydrated: High-altitude trekking and the dry Tibetan climate can lead to dehydration, so drink plenty of water throughout the journey.
-Respect Local Customs: Tibetans are deeply spiritual, and the Kailash region holds profound religious significance. Be respectful of local customs and avoid activities that may disrupt sacred rituals.
-Health Precautions: Ensure you carry necessary medications, including those for altitude sickness, and consult a doctor before embarking on the tour.
-Summer (May to September): The best time to travel to Kailash and Manasarovar is during the summer months when the weather is relatively warmer and the roads are more accessible. This is the peak pilgrimage season.
-Autumn (October to November): Early autumn offers clear skies and stable weather conditions, making it a great time for trekking around Kailash and visiting the surrounding sites.
